The detail in the fly is very focused, but the pea green backround distrupts the beauty of this nature shot. If there were some other leaves to break up the back round would feel less stark. Nice macro none the less.

Agree with GFXartist sponsor loneorbit about the background.

Wow, such a great shot
The details on the fly are great! I'm not crazy about the background though. Adding a frame would be nice IMO.
Great one anyways! I tend to love green flies after having painted lots of them, they are really beautiful and shiny!

The fly itself looks excellent; good color and very sharp details. The color of the background in unfortunate; it really sucks the life out of the overall image. +7

Love everything about this except for the crop. Landscape would look better, IMO. Nice work none the less! :)

You won't believe me..I saw a very strange dream recently and I saw a huge flies like this. I saw kinda parade of monsters and there were huge flies between the other monsters, but they drew my attention - I thought what an ridiculous choice to put flies between such a beautiful monsters..So I started to throw mud balls on them and all the creatures looked at me like on the very rude person and I started to feel embarrassed and thought - well, after all they are so beautiful flies :)
Now before you think that I completely nuts - it is the beautiful giant fly from my dream! I'm telling you, man!
Awesome

I actually very much agree with GFXartist sponsor loneorbit about the background. It's almost a visual case of "silence being deafening" - the background screams out in this image (to me anyway), which is a downfall of the work. A tighter crop would have been nice, plus i think a border would've finished the work off nicely - the backgrounds tone is too similar to the subject matter for your eye not to wander off the edge.

As stated above, it is a stunning macro though, fantastic details. Good work mate 7/10

Excellent macro shot. You could choose a higher aperture value to get the wings in focus too, but it also works the way it is. The crop is not good though. It should be horizontal, with more space around the fly.

The details are impressive. Next time please elaborate about lense, exif, etc.

It's so beautiful, I almost can't believe something as simple as a fly (that we don't care about most times or just kill it) can be the star of such a beautiful piece of art.
